Conquer El Camino – World Walks for Cancer NT

Pilgrims have walked the Camino de Santiago for centuries following the many paths to Santiago de Compostela. Cancer Council NT are taking 20 Territorians on a challenge to walk 112kms of this famous Camino from Sarria to Santiago from 2 – 12 October 2018.

The final 112km section of the full 780km walk has featured in many movies, books and documentaries as it is steeped in history and natural beauty. Walking the Camino and raising $100,000 of vital funds as a group, to support Territorians fighting cancer, will reveal the true sense of camaraderie that has always remained the spirit of the Camino.

It’s a journey that will forge life long friendships and a once in a life time experience holiday. If you have always talked about visiting Spain or had thoughts of doing the Camino, there are only a handful of places left so this is your opportunity.

For those who can’t spare the time and would still like to support those undertaking the challenge please get behind the many initiatives and fundraising activities that will be on throughout the year. Every dollar raised on the Camino World Walks for Cancer will stay in the Northern Territory and each Camino participant has signed up to raise $5,000 so they will be looking for your support to reach the target. All travel expenses and airfares are at their own expense so every dollar of fundraising initiative goes directly to the NT Cancer Council.

NADINE JONES, FUNDRAISING MANAGER, CANCER COUNCIL NT:

“SADLY, CANCER TOUCHES SO MANY OF US. BY OFFERING A HAND TO HELP THOSE THAT NEED US MOST, WE CAN ALL WALK A LONGER PATH TOGETHER AND THAT IS WHAT WORLD WALKS FOR CANCER NT IS ALL ABOUT.”
