The secret is out – the food at Caddies, the friendly bar staff and the atmosphere at Palmerston Golf Course, is simply superb.
And also very well priced.

Comments from satisfied guests on Tripadvisor include complimenting the well-portioned meals that come at an affordable price, the experienced staff and, importantly, that Caddies is “the place to go with the family” with guests saying that “we will be back in a hurry”. Managed by Darwin and Palmerston local Steve Kotz, and paired with the Bistro Manager, a very wellknown Darwin caterer, Dave Cannon, Caddies has built a membership base with hundreds of both new and continuing loyal members – and, if the truth be known, not all of them play golf.
“The golf course is terrific and attracts golfers from far and wide,” says marketing manager Susan Heenan. “But there is an enormous number of social members – people who go to the club because they enjoy a cold drink, excellent food and great company.” Caddies has themed food nights throughout the week, which are known to get the taste buds excited. Tuesday night at Caddies is perfect for family nights, with the kids eating free with any main meal purchase, and steak night, which includes choice cuts with salad and crispy chips at an affordable price of just $18.50.
“Only Dave could source that quality of steak at that price,” says Susan. “It’s a very good deal.”
Wednesday night at Caddies is a town fav – they’ve even won a Mix 104.9FM award for Darwin’s Best Parmi – with schnitzel night from $17.50.
With delicate selections of meat, tenderised, seasoned to perfection and hand crumbed, it’s hard to resist the smells and tastes that waft out of the bistro area at Caddies.
Thursday nights are trivia nights, a tremendously popular night packed with fun, prizes and excitement, always a hit at Caddies, so much so that bookings are always essential if you are after a table to dine.
This free game is great for a family or friend catch up, and with Caddies having an outdoor playground, it’s even a hit for the kids.
The entertainment doesn’t end there, with Friday night Build Your Own Pizza night, followed by local solo music acts gently sweeping the area.
Rotating solo music artists are also found at Caddies on Saturday nights from 7pm, adding a relaxed vibe perfectly suited with a nice cold refreshing sip from the bar.
Caddies holds 31 pokie machines, undercover entertainment spaces that are perfect for functions, bowls areas that go perfectly with any corporate celebration, and much more.
“If you’re a local and haven’t been to Caddies yet, it’s time to get down there,” says Susan. “You’ll love it. It’s walking distance from so many residential homes – a great local venue.” Serving times: breakfast – from
10am Saturday, from 8am Sunday;
lunch – noon-2pm Friday-Sunday;
dinner – from 6pm Tuesday-Sunday.
